Has anyone ever taken probiotics for ilestomy output. Been looking all day for new ideas to help with high output.

I have been to the hospital again for dehydration for IVs. I might have to have a picc line put in. I have tried just about everything.

Jan,

I can only imagine how frustrating this all must be for you. Maybe getting the PICC line put in is a good thing. It's incredible how fast our bodies bounce back once we're rehydrated again. Maybe you just need the extra assistance the PICC line can give, while you try to work out a plan that will keep you hydrated in the long run.

I'm not too familiar with probiotics, but I do know yogurt is a good source of it.

Hi Jan625,

I dont know much about probiotics but my surgeon gave me a medication called Pantoprazole to help with output and it makes a HUGE difference. I think it is usually used for gastric ulcers and Reflux.

Hay there

Are you saying that your output is too runny ? Cause i have found on really hot days i need to drink lots of water and if i know im going to be exercising i will take a Gastrolite- Its a desolvble tablet that is normaly for people who have got Gastro. It helps to rehidrate your body after lossing fluid. You can get it a your local chemist (well atleat you can in australia). Hope this helps.

Jan,

It sounds like Luke and Clo Bo have given you a couple of new ideas to investigate. Let me know what you find out about these ideas...

Have you stopped drinking coffee yet? (If I remember from a previous post, you like your coffee - as do I!)
