Was wondering if you had any idea the percentage of people with ileostomys take leperamine?
I have spent alot of time looking up ileostomy output on the net and they sure talk about ot alot.
I'm still having problems and am having stool tested again.
I'm sure tired of all of this and would suer like to know what is causing it. The first monthn it wasn't that way.
I really enjoy hereing from you. You seem to know so much about everthing.
Thanks Jan,

do you mean Loperamide? I've never taken it, but know some people who do.
I have had an ileostomy for 32 years now due to UC.

I'm doing better, but still having problems with the ileostomy output being to fast. Just hope it slows down soon so I wont have to keep getting IVs. Must be doing alittle better as I have been getting them every week instead of every three days.
Do you take anything to slow your output? Don't know if I drink to much at once and it goes right threw me or what. It has been three and a half months since I had the ileostomy.
Been thinking of you and was wondering how you were doing. See you on the form now and then and always wonder how you are.

Are you still drinking coffee? Do you eat anything in the morning BEFORE your coffee, ie a banana, etc.? Just curious how you start your day. I know if I have coffee with caffeine first thing in the morning, even with the Loperamide, I am doomed for watery output for several hours. But, if I start off with a banana and a fruit grain breakfast bar with very little coffee, things are much, much better. Just my little hint.
