Hi everyone!! I'm five weeks post op and everything went well! My surgery was March 14th. I was in the hospital for six days because I had a partial lung collaspe. But that was because I had trouble with the breathing treatments. Other than that, everything went fine. I had no idea how hard recovery was though. A lot of pain, and shots all day. They gave me morphin shots in my legs every six hours and heprin in my stomach. Thats the only thing that sucked. I hate needles! I am going to the bathroom about three times a day. sometimes once but when I do its ALOT! Usually when I eat, I poop. Constant movement. I lost 12 lbs in the beginning, but now I've gained most of it back. I'm still 7 lbs lighter but I think that was all colon. Well, if anyone has any questions I will be glad to answer them. Now that I've been through a colectomy, I want to share all my info with others who are in need. Time to give back, everyones advice was very useful and I thank everyone that shared! Thank you to the forum, it made it so much easier!
