Hi all, its been a while since i've posted b/c work has me so tired all i do is come home and sleep. but i do read ur posts everyday.  Im having a weird situation and i dont know what to do.

Starting yesterday, ive been feeling a pain in my chest (mayb closer to my throat) it feels like things are going down really slowly, which causes me to burp.  I tried to make myself vomit, but nothing was coming out. Yesterday my output was pretty nil, i didnt have to empty at work at all, but then i didnt really eat because of this feeling in my chest/throat.

Last night i had a leak, and it was thick (sorry if its too much info) like toothpaste, and not all liquidy.
so i guess my question is does this sound like a blockage? if so are there n e home remedies to help it out? im not nauseous and theres no pain in my actual belly or around my stoma.

I also wanted to add that i've taken waaaaaaay more aleeve than i should have b/c iv had a killer toothache over the past few weeks. I know we're not supposed to take NSAIDS and i'm allergic to naproxen which is in aleeve.  However, i can usually get away with taking 2 for my cramps (from my cycle)

So needless to say i've nixed the aleeve to see if this feeling disappears but its pretty weird and uncomfortable, and i'm kind of afraid to eat b/c if its a blockage i dont want to make it worse. If u vomit with a blockage does ur food come up?

P4H,
not a dr., so not sure what to say...
sometimes pressure in the chest can be from heartburn symptoms, or worry.
My output is thick like toothpaste also, I was worried on that also, but said to myself just to relax and let it do its thing,,, some days have passed by and it seems better..
being anxious and trying to induce vomiting will only put you in more distress. nono
don't need that eh!
If you had a leak, then I would venture to guess that there is no blockage. eh. :-)
toothaches and meds can and will make you feel different,,
keep on a good diet, drink lots of water, rest, and
don't worry....
I know its easy to say,,, but just try it K..

I'll send some healing thoughts your way!!! :-)

thanx tpoof...
i dont know whats going on...my stomach is still making the funny noises and the insides of my hands and my feet hurt.

it feels like i have bad indigestion...what do we take for that? n e body know? im starting not to feel so great (still no nauseau) i've only emptied once today. Im getting ready to go out and pretend as if i feel ok. i really dont want to go to the er.

What would home treatments be if i did have a blockage?

Praying-have you done the heating pad thing?  sometimes I just put it on low, place it where the pain is, and let it do it's thing.  I always seems to make me feel better.

I hope you feel better soon.

i think maybe you shoudl see the dr on monday at least
anytime i don't get much output i just start chugging water like crazy, until stuff starts coming out. THe chest pain could easily be gas.
However, i don't want to scare you, but tooth aches are sometimes what is called "defered pain" which means something is wrong somewhere but instead of hurting where it is wrong, it will hurt in your teeth. I don't know why that happens, but it does, like sometimes men will have tooth aches before heart attacks (not saying you are having a heart attack though!)
i hope you start to feel better
and try laying on your left side, that helps things move

Hi Praying:

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. I also had toothaches and a bad bout of sciatica. I tried the NSAIDS and I got into trouble. I had blood in my urine, luckily it cleared up right after I discontinued using the NSAIDS.

My advice, for what it's worth, is to drink plenty of water and see the dr. as soon as possible. I think, for us, pain meds may be the better option for treating pain. Of course, Tylenol is not an NSAID but it doesn't always work for me.

The heating pad can help too.

I hope you feel better soon.

Richard

I was taking an Aleve a day and developed a terrible stomachache-really burning like an ulcer. Then Peggy, I think, told me her doctor told her to NOT take NSAIDS. I stopped and the pain stopped. When I told my doctor he said that if I took Aleve, I had to take Prilosec with it. I decided to leave the Aleve off altogether. The doc did prescribe a medicine to put under my tongue which helps with pain. Could you have acid reflux? I hope by now you have gone to the doctor, or you are much better.

I'll be thinking good thought for you.

Nene ---- You remembered!!!!!   Aleve is bad for any kind of stomach issues...  just like NSAIDS are bad.

P4H --- flush your system with lots of fluids.  Your output should change once you get the OTC pain drugs out of your system, IMO.   Stick to bland foods for a few days -- no grease, no spices, etc.  Let us know how things go.
