hi heather, meant to say in my email i wasn't told to quit smoking or stop the birth controol pill. I know it is bad i tried to stop during the colon prep but i was so scared i couldn't. I had my last cigarette about 3 hrs before the surgery, had no more ciggies until 3 weeks later when i was at home and so sore and bored that i started again. I hope you do it. Be stronger than i was! good luck with quiting and you know i wish you well for the op :-)

Wishing you all the best with your prep and surgery! Please keep us posted on how you're doing once you're through surgery. Once you've healed up, you really will feel the best you've ever felt, and you'll be able to start living life to the fullest!! :-) (just a tip, once you've stopped smoking for 3 weeks, you'll be over the worst of it, so it would be wise not to start up again. You can do it!!)

Dx'd Crohn's in '99 at 28. Proctocolectomy and ileostomy in '06.
Disease-free, medicine-free, and very thankful to be healthy again :)
