I have been on a regular diet for a couple of weeks, but I have trouble with diareahea big time. Everytime I eat, within a matter of minutes, I have to go to the bathroom and it is like practically everything comes out. If I eat one small snack, like a fruit cup with just peaches, I go to the bathroom two or three times after that, and it a couple of hours in that cycle. If I eat my dinner, which has been fish and veggies, or chicken and veggies, I would go to the bathroom up to 5-6 times an hour for pretty much 5 hours. The other day, i ate a small piece of yellow cake made with splenda with frosting made with splenda, the low-sugar pillsbury cake mixes they have for diabetics, at 7pm,and having nothing else after that, and I was up the whole entire night having non-stop diarehea, 2-3 times every hour til 8am the next morning. I usually space my eating where I would not eat anything else until i have not gone constantly to the bathroom for over an hour and a half. I was wondering if this will pass, and if so how long. I also wonder if there are foods that would stay longer. I am also a type 2 diabetic, so I can not have any heavy carbs.

You might do better by avoiding Splenda products until you have more recovery. Sugar and sugar substitutes tend to increase frequency. Stick to proteins and complex carbohydrates (to the degree your diabetic diet will allow). Stay away from carbonation and talk to your doctor about including bowel slowers (imodium/lomotil) and fiber (metamucil) to your regime to improve your condition.
