I just changed from an opaque bag to a clear one (free sample).
This alows me to see it out and dangling down about two inches  when standing--kind of like a short hose which I'd never seen before.  I've also had a bad cough due to a cold for the last two weeks and every cough  causes it to pop out.
This has worried me, but it seems to always retract when I lie down such as to change wafers.
I seem to have a vague memory of instructions that one might have to manipulate  a prolapsed ostomy back in.  Anybody have to do that?

I wouldn't worry. If it has been a couple of weeks (after you stop coughing) and it's still 'hanging out' then go see your surgeon. I had a really bad cough when I was prego and my stoma was out a good 4-5 inches. Eventually, it made its way back in.
