hiya, sorry havent spoken with you guys in a couple of weeks things been rather hectic. My sister is due her baby in a month so i am spending a lot of time with her before she becomes a mummy for the first time, im also still up to my eyeballs in decorating.

My health is fab!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! since doing the low residue and being on the meds i am great. Now off meds no diet and it is wonderfull. I have been like this now for a couple of months, just watch what food i digest and i am ok, still slip up from time to time with particular foods, but that is my fault!

Last week i also found out i am pregnant!!! woohoo, my husband and i are over the moon. so excited and so are the chilldren. Not only am i healthy but also carrying a little bit of magic. Right now i am feeling really blessed. I hope all my HW friends are doing well. I will try and get on more, but now with a new baby on the way i realy need to finish this house, as i dont want no paint fumes etc... with a new baby, so i want the house finished in three months at the most.

Karen - 46 yrs old
1997: Diagnosed IBS
2003: Pelvic floor repair surgery
2006: STARR surgery for mucosal prolapse/Obstructive Defaecation Syndrome.  Diagnosed with slow transit.
2007: No difference. Had MRI scan showing a partial volvulus
2007: Had sigmoid resection which resulted in immediate colonic inertia
2008: Now contemplating colectomy as I need to take up to 30 senna tablets daily for some kind of bowel movement (albeit not 'normal' or all at once).  In discomfort/pain most days.

If they had diagnosed me properly in the first place - i probably wouldnt have needed all of the above surgeries - makes me mad :(  Typical ..

Scared as told it is 50/50 i could be incontinent and need a bag.... However i am on waiting list for a tc - wont be til new year now.

OMG! Congratulations!

I am super jealous, my husband and I have been trying for 4 years, to no avail. Doc won't start infertility treatments until one year after my surgeries. So, next year I will hopefully have similar news!

Congrats again, being healthy and pregnant is wonderful!

Jo - UC, total colectomy and ileostomy on August 24, 2007. Step 2 & ileosotmy switched to left side - May 27, 2008, and take down August 8, 2008. LIFE IS GOOD.
