ok i got out today and the seat belt hits right across my stoma...cutting its air off i guess and causeing me cramps big time...what can i do about the seat belt?

even if it is covering ur stoma it shouldnt cause cramping, no seatbelt shoud ever be that tight, but one of the interesting suggestions iv heard is to use a clothes pin to loosen the slack, that way if n e thing bad happens ur seatbelt will still work. i thought it was pretty smart,but i dont have that problem....hope u find relief

if you just got out of the hospital today your stomach is still very tender. Atfirst the seat belt hurt me too, but that went away.

I've also heard of people rolling a towel, like a hand towel, and placing it between the seatbelt and the stoma - just a little extra padding.

you can buy a plastic clamp which puts slack onto the lower portion of your seatbelt. they're about $5 for 2. found them at my local hardware store in the car area
