Hey ya'll, its been quite awhile since I last posted on here. I have talked to my doctor a couple of weeks ago and we have set up my reversal for next year. I first have to get a colonoscopy before the surgery and then the surgery 5 days later. I am really looking forward to getting this done. Yeah, i have been doing great since first getting the ileostomy, but i don't want to live with it for the rest of my life if i don't have to. The only thing that is a real bummer is that my insurance is making me wait till next year to get the surgery due to pre-existing conditions. But it's not a big deal though.

Anyway, wish me luck. turn

Congrats! Good for you. Be sure to research all the info so you know what diets to try; or not! Good Luck,

I just had my reversal done on the 17th and was discharged on the 27th, I had a set back b/c of a nurse not knowing that I shouldn't of had any pills by mouth, so when I got my first meal I was give large potassium pills 6 of them and I got blocked in the hosp two and a half days later I passed 5 of the pills (not fun).

Today and yesterday I have been doing well and less pain although I was going to the bathroom 10x a day I now am at half that.
I had been in my ileostomy since 1997 and I turned 42 last Tuesday the 28th so my thoughts where the same, I'm too young to continue in one and I wanted to change if it was possible. I take Humira shots right now.

Good luck

Thanks for the well wishes! Sorry I have not posted in quite some time, I have been really busy out here on the road. I hope that it doesn't take too long to get back to normal again although I've heard (read) stories on here about it taking up to a year to get back to some semblance of normal. I have been doing alot of research lately and to be honest, i hope that i don't have to wear a diaper (depends) to bed or while I'm out on the road. The thought of that makes me feel like i'm a two year again. LOL

Any how, I hope things will go alright though.
