I was just wondering I had step one on oct. 21st, would it be ok if I had a little wine tonight? Im taking my girlfriend out for a romantic dinner... we havent gone out to dinner since the surgery. I just wanted to enjoy a glass of pino with her. Any thoughts??? Thank you
I miss the waves... I miss the trails... I miss the snowy mountains and the rock walls I used to scale... I miss being on stage and escaping from reality... I miss feeling healthy... I miss feeling sane. I pray every day for one day out of seven just to feel invincible. That day will come. Thank you all for being here... in this small corner of the internet universe, you've been so much help... hope i've been the same.

As long as your not on any meds that would cause problems I don't see why not. Have fun!

Yes, you can have a glass of wine. Hope you had a great time! :-)

Back when I had a temporary colostomy, wine was on the diet I should follow. I was to avoid beer and carbonated beverages though. But wine was recommended, if I wanted a drink with alcohol in it. As someone said, as long as it doesn't interfere with any medications you are taking, go for it.

Side note - fruit juices were recommended too. I would buy the 6 pack plastic bottles of apple and white grape juice, chilling them in the fridge. My ostomy nurse said wine and fruit juice were good for the GI tract when you have an ostomy. (not an entire bottle of wine but a few glasses doesn't hurt, unless you're driving!).

if i can drink a bottle of rum (which i do not reccomend by the way, oh my aching head!) you can drink a glass of wine, lol.
BUT if it's red wine, your output may turn red! i dont know if you have seen that yet, but it's pretty freaky the first time it happens to you.

I'd say go for it(as long as you aren't on any meds)!!! BUT, remember our bodies dehydrate faster, which tends to make hangovers WORSE!! Drink lots of water with the wine:)
