I have had an ileostomy for about 23 years, but it never gets any easier trying to find clothes that are stylish as well as comfortable.  We probably all agree that the new "stretch" jeans are great....they give a little as the pouch fills.  Any suggestions on undies that hide the pouch and not appear to be "granny panties"??  And how do you ladies deal with the "low riding" jeans?  Seems like they all strike right on top of my stoma!   And....the top of the pouch always sticks up above the waistline.....I'm so frustrated with all of this....I'm 54, but I still feel young and try to look in style!  My little stoma friend is kinda making that difficult!!!  Any Suggestions??

i wear the flirtudte undies from jcpenneys, either the hipster or boyshort style they are cute, not too expenisve and work great. Alos the ambrielle kind from Jcpenneys, again in the boyshort or hipster.
I wear low rise jeans, but i tape teh top of my bag to my stomach, so it doesn't flop over. And i just wear whatever shirt i want.
I havent really had any trouble dressing, i do find that if i have something kind of tight, i put my belly band on and it helps

I wear low cut jeans and long quite well fitted tops.  My confidence boosting underwear is body suits (like swimming costume shape only with a built in bra and hooks underneath for the toilet) it means I never have to worry about the pouch showing.  Also I have a pair of shorts shaped underwear which also covers everything.  I'm surprised at how nice you can look, with having an ileostomy I thought I would have to buy all baggy tops and wear tracksuit bottoms which just isn't me so I'm so pleased.

I don't bother with low rise jeans. Normal jeans suit me just fine :) I've found undies that aren't 'granny undies' at $10AUS for a pack of 4 at (believe it or not) Coles here in Australia (which is a grocery variety store much like Walmart in the US. They're high rise but with a high cut leg and very comfy.

I wear 'normal' clothes, everything except a bikini. I have a 'work' blouse which I really do wish was a bit longer (more to cover my huge backside than the front of me) but it still works :)

Tell you what - have a look around next time you're shopping and try and spot the ostomate (in a medium sized shopping centre you can bet there's probably more than one walking around). I bet you can't tell who has an ostomy or not. Most people wouldn't have a clue what they were looking at even if they could see a slight bulge - they'd probably not think anything of it anyway. It's only because we're so self concious that we think people can see it.

Take care.
I have had an ileostomy for 32 years now due to UC.

I buy my undies at Kohls here in Ohio. Since I have a hernia, I buy what is called "modified briefs". I prefer the French or Hi Cut. I can wear firm or ultra firm control without hurting my stoma and it holds in the hernia without any trouble. Also, gives me tummy control. They come in beige, white, and black. So I can match my bras. The brands I like are Bali (favorite - boy cut in the front, regular in the back. Different and very comfy.) Barely There (tag free and ultra firm control), and Control It, by Maidenform. They are kinda expensive, so I try to always get on sale (regular price $14.00 - 18.00) Usually get them for 30% off. These aren't your grandma's girdles!!! I'm going to try and avoid wearing a belt for as long as I can. I'm 44 and have to find some ways to keep myself feeling young and attractive.

I live in Florida, where it's warm most of the year, so I wear a lot of capri pants with baby doll tops.
