She got out of the bed today.... twice... the ostomy nurse came in and assessed her sking. recommended a few things to try. We did have a  scare because her incision is still draining some. We thought that a fistula was formed and poop was coming out of her incision!! Not good... Anyway, he came into the room and his feelings were that it was just abdominal ascites and not poop. We were very relieved!
Been taking ya'lls advice and she has been up and walking today. around the nurses station and such. I know it feels much better than being in bed all day.
We will continue to keep you guys posted!

GREAT news!   Tell her to keep it up, that she is doing wonderfully, and looking forward to hearing from her when she gets home soon.

So, are you sleeping any better now that this ordeal is on it's way to being resolved for now?  I hope you are and can wind down a bit....  You are probably exhausted.

I was out of it for the first four days but as soon as i woke up i was in a regular room and since i couldnt really walk standing straight up (dont flip out and be scared if she cant either..it kinda hurts a little bc I had to stretch my stomach muscles back out..its really tight for a while) I stood up and bent my head over the sink and my mom washed my hair for me =) So thats a tip for ya! And i felt so yucky because it had been forever since I took a shower but since i wasnt aloud to take a shower when i was in the hospital (it might be different for her bc i was on prednisone and it takes me longer to heal bc i was on it for awhile so i wasnt aloud to get the stitches wet) i sat on the edge of the tub and my mom gave me a sponge bath. Even if she just washed my face with a wet washcloth it made me feel better. So thats another tip.
Tell your daughter that even though its going to tough sometimes, itll be worth it in the end! Good Luck with everything!
