In response to a previous post about wanting to know where we all are located, and since we have so many new folks joining this board, I thought it would be nice to do this thread for now.  Those out there just lurking, here is your opportunity to chime in....  and let us know you exist!!!!   This may be a repeat for some of you, brand new for others.  I'll begin:

We vacationed two summers in a row in Canada! Back in the mid-90s......loved it! Everyone was so nice and the scenery was just beautiful.

We stayed in Barrie, Huntsville and Sault Ste. Marie one summer. The other summer Quebec City and Barrie/Huntsville again. We took the day train trip out of Sault Ste. Marie the first trip. I could just imagine how picturesque it would be in winter. The second trip we went to Santa's Village in Bracebridge (sp?). All in all, two wonderful back to back driving summer vacations with our then two little girls (4 and 7, then 5 and 8). They still talk about those trips.

The last trip, my husband was missing our comfortable water bed so much, we checked out of our Quebec City hotel and he drove us straight thru to Cincinnati. Yes, 18 hours. Around oh 9 or 10 p.m., I started asking - shouldn't we check into a hotel and get some sleep? He said no, look how close we are......we ended up pulling into our driveway around 3 a.m. Of course we stopped for two sit down meals, many rest stops bathroom breaks. He enjoyed that 10 day trip but said if he had to spend the night in another uncomfortable hotel bed, he would have been really uncomfortable. All I know is I could barely stand up, when we finally stopped the car! But as he joked - we are home now......but let me just say this - I've never let him pull a stunt like that ever since - we check into hotels now, along the way. For proper sleep!
