hi everyone, just wrote a question, but deleted it by mistake, so i'll try and go thru it again.

i've had underactive thyroid since 2006, i think it started when my uc went really bad, anyway it was under control but last year after surgery i had to have my dose increased cos the body got a shock from surgery.
this tyme i'm again feeling low , aching, hard to do things, it's more deppressing cos after the uc i thought i would do so much but it gets hard to even do housework.
the strange thing is that the doc says i'm on the right dose of meds, i've joined a thyroid forum but thought to ask my old friends if they could help.
P.S i don't want to scare anyone, not everyone gets thyroid, it's just some of us, and you can get it without having any other illness.

love to hear from someone who's experienced this.

Samie,
I'm sorry you're having thyroid issues. My mom and sister both have underactive thyroids, so I understand a little bit about it. Do you see an Endocrinologist? If you do, you can always go to a different one for a second opinion. Your post prompted me to make an appointment to get mine checked, and I'm going in today! From what I've read online, everyone over 35 should get their thyroid checked every 5 years. I hope you get some answers soon, so you can start feeling better. Please keep us posted on what you find out.
