In August my time will be up and I will be having my reversal....that is if possible...scar tissie and paritintius is leaving my surgery sucess in question....That is why i am considering going to teh Clevland Clinic.....They say its the best chance for sucess....I have read many of you have been there and had surgeries....Tell me some drs you have had so I can get a feel for the best....I had a cyst and during my surgery to remove my cyst the dr nicked my colon.....which for 5 days i was in pain and then had emergency surgery.....spent 26 days in teh hospital and almost died.....Anyway, I want the best place adn the best dr....I really dont want another botched surgery...Im so afraid and stressed out rite now.....It was Jan 13 i had my colostomy and now im back to work part time and cant think or drive......I know its just stress of all of this...Just been married for 5 months when this happened....Last year bought a house and moved...Just alot of changes in my life and I really want this to work out....Thanks in advance for your or maggie

So sorry to hear about this. I have an acquaintance who had a botched colonoscpy of all things and had to have a temporary colostomy bag.

I can only speak about the Cleveland Clinic in Florida and they are awesome. I would definitely go to the best... These doctors are amazing and really know what they are doing.

You are close to Ohio so that would be the best location for you. But if you decide to come to Florida- Dr. Eric Weiss is the bomb>>

If you are in the midwest or the east coast then yes, go to the Cleveland Clinic.  If you are on the west coast I could give you other options.


dx proctitis in 1987
dx UC in 1991, was stable until 1998

1998 started prednisone, asacol, pentasa, nortriptylene, ativan, 6MP, rowasa enemas and suppositories, hydrocortisone enemas, tried the SCD diet, being a vegetarian, omega 3s, flax, pranic healing, yoga, acupuncture, probiotics

2000 lost all my B-12 stores and became anemic

2001 opted for j-pouch surgery- now living life med-free
