After reversal

I have heard people talk about blockages on here. After you have your ileostomy reversed, do you still have to worry about blockages?

What was your surgery for?



dx proctitis in 1987
dx UC in 1991, was stable until 1998

1998 started prednisone, asacol, pentasa, nortriptylene, ativan, 6MP, rowasa enemas and suppositories, hydrocortisone enemas, tried the SCD diet, being a vegetarian, omega 3s, flax, pranic healing, yoga, acupuncture, probiotics

2000 lost all my B-12 stores and became anemic

2001 opted for j-pouch surgery- now living life med-free

I had a tumor in my rectal area that attached itself to my sphincter muscles so they cut it out and rebuilt my muscles..... then my muscles wouldnt work and it created a rectovaginal fistula, so then 2 weeks later they did the loop ileostomy.

Diagnosed with CD in 1979, many resections and meds
Perm Ileostomy July 1984 at Cleveland Clinic
Disease free since surgery
