My GI and the Surgeon he sent me to, say the same thing, I need surgery with bag for life. I wish I could get a second opinion that maybe I could have surgery that wasn't permanent or they have come up with other ways to cope with my problems. I just want to make sure that this has to happen.

Has anyone else got second opinions and how did you feel about them? How much does just a consultation cost at somewhere like the Cleveland Clinic where a friend thinks I should go. I live in Canada and don't know if it's covered to go to the States.

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks

If YOU don't feel comfortable with the decisions you've heard so far (with those dr's explanations and test results), then I recommend you seek another opinion of someone you trust.

I highly recommend Cleve Clinic - I had my surgeries there w/ the last one in 1984, so I wouldn't have any idea what the costs are now. They are very good.
Diagnosed with CD in 1979, many resections and meds
Perm Ileostomy July 1984 at Cleveland Clinic
Disease free since surgery
