So i get ready to get in the shower and i get all my stuff for a change together, and then get in and take a shower and blah blah.
Well i get out and i always take the back off the wafer and put the paste on it then lay it, the bag and two rags on the floor.  then take the bag off, well i messed up and forgot to do all that!
So i had to hold the rag over my stoma, prayingnothing would come out, while i was trying to use one hand, my left hand none the less, to do all those things.
Well then, i laid down on the pad on the floor to put the bag on and all.  Well, i lay downright beside my shower, and i'm not really sure why this happened, but water started coming out of the shower head, like a whole bunch really really fast and it was flying right onto me!  So i reached over really quickly and slammed the shower door, but not before i got wet!  UGH!!!
So i get up get everything taken care of then i get really stupid.
I put on one of those sure seals.  And i usually cut it and put it on that way.  But this time i decided to put it on in one piece.  Well, i neglected to take the backing off before i put it over my bag!  man that was tough!  And i ended up with all these places where it didnt cover, and having to patch it up, lol.  Im going back to doing it the old way from now on.

Then the icing on the annoyance cake
I came out, i was starving, and made a salad, well i went to sit it on the island, and i'm not sure what happened but the next thing i knew my salad was on the floor and my bowl was broken.  And let me tell you salad goes a long way!  and ranch dressing is NOT easy to clean up!
So now as i am typing this waiting to see what else is going to go wrong michael pulls the xbox power control off the tv!
So once again i will just wait to see what else is going to go wrong today! lol

when it rains (from the shower head)... it pours (all over you, lying on the floor trying to apply your wafer!)

you know this only happens so you can keep us laughing!

why are you lying down to put your wafer on? I put mine on standing up. It seems easier.
Especially if you are in public bathroom.
Just curious.

Well it didnt really get any better, lol. I knocked the stupid dart board off the door and all the pieces went all over!
And now i got a god awful mess from everyone being over here tonight, lol.

CeCe-that is exactly what i thought when it happened!

I think its easier to change laying down, i get a better seal that way, my fat smooths out, lol. I have always done it that way, i tried it standing up a few times and it just didnt go well for me! I do however think that hte bag snaps on better standing up.

Your good attitude and cheery view are wonderful.
I don't have my ileostomy yet but I had kind of funny experience today. I didn't get as upset as I might have and I thank summerstorm for that.....

I was desperately close to no more Pulls ups, which is what I've been reduced to wearing for leaving the house. Depends are too big and uncomfortable.(Have never seen the small size in the city I live in.) So I get pampers "Goodnights". Well they are expensive and so I try to buy a couple bags every time they go on sale. Hadn't seen them for a while and almost out. Then I was just wandering the drug store isle waiting for a prescription, and they were on sale!!! Happy day!! I bought two bags and ran home with my treasure to put them away.

So this morning I am going to pick weeds in a conservation area and think, "protection important". Get up a little late and am rushing around to get ready when not sitting on toilet. I put on one of the new "diapers" and I had either gained ten pounds over night or bought the wrong size!!! OK in very big hurry now. Have to wear it and the side is part way ripped. I mean we're talking "girdle diaper".Is there anything more uncomfortable than that on hot day??Managed to keep it on without it ripping out for hours. Happy ending!!!.LOL Feels like way too often these crazy inconveniences happen and I got upset before but now I am going to be more positive and LOL. Thank-you all for positiveness.

Moral of Story: Way important to read labels, ect. before running out of the store with new treasures. Will take the other package back to exchange.

LOL that is too funny!
Glad i could help you have a laugh, lol.

We had a great time Friday night. Then yesterday we all went to charlotte Jason and Deanna went to see Phantom of the Opera.
Random here, but we are driving in downtown charlotte, very busy, stopped at a stoplight, right next to where Jason and Deanna need to go, Jason is driving, i am in the passenger seat, Deanna and tim are in the back seat. All of a sudden, Jason opens the door and jumps out and says, we will just walk from here!
Well i had to jump over the middle part of the seat (in a freaking jean skirt none the less, and not a really long one either, lol) to the driver seat Deanna doesnt even have her shoes on and jumps out runs around the car tim does the same. I was so scared, i am too old for chinese fire drills!)
so while they were doing that tim and i drove around lost, lol. Then went and checked into our hotel and waited on them to get out.
Then we went out to dinner and bar hopping we had a blast and i had the best drink! Then we went back and gotin the hot tub at the hotel for a few minutes then went and watched movies.
It was sooo fun!

But i was so nervous, cause i worea skirt and i was afraid that my underwear by itself wouldnt hold my bag flat, and it was way too hot for hose, So i put that belly band over it too and that worked BUT then right before we get ready to go out to eat the stupid thing starts making noise so i put one of those squares of cloth in there, so now i have the belly band thing and the cloth and my underwear and my middle looked so thick! lol. And i was so worrid that square of cloth would fall out while i was just walking around!
But all was well, lol.
