I had 41 staples after my surgery in June. I'd never had staples before and wondered about
getting them out, too. I went to my surgeon's office to get them out. They didn't numb me, but I hardly felt any of them coming out. A few of them stung a bit, but any pain was gone almost immediately. It really went fast! I've never had staples on the bottom end, though. If someone is driving you, you could probably take something beforehand, but you should be okay without, I'd think.

i would take something, just for the nerves. I wish i had thought to do that for getting the ones out of my stomach. I had stiches in my bottom though
Just the thought of those staples is turning my stomach, lol

I didn't have any in my hiney, but maybe you could ask for some topical lidocain ointment to numb it a bit. AND definitely take something.
