So one more day until I get the 50 staple off the bottom end. The nurse at the hospital took out the 30 something front ones and I had to have her stop at intervals to recoup from the pain.

Now I am not on heavy drugs and have to go to the Surgeon's office to get these taken out. I am slightly freaked about this. Do they numb it? Should I load up on the biggest drug I can?

Need info PLEASE

Hope everyone is coping with their trials. I haven't had internet lately. God bless you all.

I had 41 staples after my surgery in June. I'd never had staples before and wondered about getting them out, too. I went to my surgeon's office to get them out. They didn't numb me, but I hardly felt any of them coming out. A few of them stung a bit, but any pain was gone almost immediately. It really went fast! I've never had staples on the bottom end, though. If someone is driving you, you could probably take something beforehand, but you should be okay without, I'd think.

I didn't have any in my hiney, but maybe you could ask for some topical lidocain ointment to numb it a bit. AND definitely take something.
