I see it mentioned all the time and I still have no clue what exactly it is.  Is it a powder or a spray or something else?  Who makes it and what is its name?  I feel like I should know the answer to this glaringly obvious thing and yet... I don't.

When I had a temp ostomy the skin prep was a moistened toilette that cleaned the skin around the ostomy well and was done prior to adhering a new wafer. I don't remember the name of the products but they should be readily available at stores that sell ostomy supplies.

Thanks, the final piece just slid into place. I've seen wipes mentioned, too. It's just not something I've seen because the ET didn't show them to me.

Hi Heather,

I use Unisolve adhesive remover to remove the old sticky when removing my appliance. THen I wash the peristomal skin with plain ivory soap (no added lotions, no oils) and water and dry. THen I use AllCare Protective wipes. It is like a towellete that leaves a protective coating over the skin so that the wafer won't irritate your skin. I need it and it works great. Rosemary
