The other night at work I was had to open the kids club but before that I had to collect the money so I went into the coin room collected my till then went to head out the door but as I opened the door from my side one of the guys from work opened it from his side and as I had the till resting up against my tummy the door hit the till which hit me heavily in the stomache. I buckled over in pain and was taken to the hospital which is right across the road from my work. The doc that saw me said I was extremely lucky as it appears I managed to escape without serious injury but I do have quite a lot of bruising to my stomache area and still pretty sore 2 days after. It did'nt hit my stoma it was just above which I am really grateful for. Not many people from work are or were aware of my condition but now they all do which is something I really wanted to keep to myself so I am not looking forward to going back to work on wednesday. I will only go back if I am feeling ok though. I was just at my surgeons the other day for my post op check up and he was happy with the way I am healing. It seems typical of my luck lol always something seems to happen to me. Never a dull moment lol. Anyway I hope you are all well and I must say I am happy to have a lot of you on my facebook, its great to put faces to names yeah and what a good looking bunch you all are. take care guys.
Oh and if rosebud reads this please let me know how your going too, I havent heard from you in a while and hope your ok wink

Oh my goodness, I'm so glad you're okay! I didn't tell anyone at my job either, but everyone found out when I went into the hospital a few months back. The amazing thing is, it opened the door for me to meet someone with an ostomy AND someone whose parents BOTH had ostomies, so you never know what good is going to come out of it! :-)

Hope your first day back went well, and that you're feeling better every day. Good to see your pretty face on Facebook, too!

Dx'd Crohn's in '99 at age 28. Proctocolectomy and ileostomy in '06.
Disease-free and medicine-free since surgery and very thankful to be healthy again.

Oh you poor thing, I hope you're feeling less sore soon. I live in fear of taking a hit in the tummy!

cry  hey Andorable hope your feeling much better?? That would have been a bit of a scare for you,and most definately very painful to. I'm sorry this happened to you as that's all you needed hey?? Also when you go back to work dont even worrie if people do know(yes it's embarrassing) but it's nothing to be ashamed of either. If anyone say's anything about you having a bag ect, just say what are you talking about as they dont need to know!! It's your body and your business and make that very clear ok. I'm the same as you i only tell people that really need to know, other than that i dont tell. I truly hope your recovery is a quick one with no other prob's!!
best wishes,
