its when your stools are quite solid, and unable to flow down into your pouch

that only happens with colostomys i think.
UC for 8 years, before finally kicking its butt and having a permanent ileostomy April 17 2007!

Something like that has happened to me and I have ileostomy. I just know I need to drink more water when that happens compared to what I ate. Not chewing food enough a reason for me too. If there are others I'd like to know them too.

I'm like you sometimes thick and you almost have to milk the stool out of the pouch. Fluids make the world of difference especially water, it doen't seem to work with diet cola or other stuff.... water seems to do the trick.

Try spraying some cooking oil up the top inside of your bag (a lot of people use PAM). It helps everything slide down easier. Don't get any on the sticky bits though!
