I did it!
I started a local support group meeting.
We'll start meeting next month at NKCH.

I'm so glad. I hope to be able to help people in our situation. I know I really could've used this, esp. at first.

If anyone's ever in k.c., come on by:)

28 yrs. old. married with one beautiful daughter (born 11/20/07)
-diagnosed with severe pancolitis u/c 2002 had total colectomy 12/19/08; emergency surgery due to abscess-had to redo ileostomy and switch to left side 12/25/08; 2/15/09 found blood clot in superior mesenteric vein (prob. from inf. and surgery inflammation)
i only take vitamins now, when I WANT to. :)
(temporary ileostomy....maybe)

When you say kc do you mean Kansas City? If so I'm close by 125 miles and I'd love to make the trip.

That's a wonderful thing u are doing!!!! You are so young and so positive!! I always feel I'm the youngest one going through all of this and I can never find anyone to talk to that would underatand. I'm 33 but at this point I don't see myself having kids because taking care of myself is a full time job. My ileostomy is permanent and it's hard to accept that. It's very challenging because my stoma does nottttttt stop!!!!!!! I'm always in the bathroom!! Well hopefully we can chat on a more personal level since we are so close in age. Hope to speak to you soon. Oh, where do you live? I'm in New Jersey
