I did it!
I started a local support group meeting.
We'll start meeting next month at NKCH.

I'm so glad. I hope to be able to help people in our situation. I know I really could've used this, esp. at first.

If anyone's ever in k.c., come on by:)

Congrats girl! You will help so many people.
Heather

I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in 2000.

I was hospitalized about 10 times between 2000 and 2004. I had about 9(or more) blood transfusions total.

Finally, in January of 2004 I was told the damage was too bad and I needed a permanent ileostomy.

I went through a healthy pregnancy in 2006-2007. I had a handsome 8lb 6oz baby boy.

Chassity,

That's a wonderful thing u are doing!!!! You are so young and so positive!! I always feel I'm the youngest one going through all of this and I can never find anyone to talk to that would underatand. I'm 33 but at this point I don't see myself having kids because taking care of myself is a full time job. My ileostomy is permanent and it's hard to accept that. It's very challenging because my stoma does nottttttt stop!!!!!!! I'm always in the bathroom!! Well hopefully we can chat on a more personal level since we are so close in age. Hope to speak to you soon. Oh, where do you live? I'm in New Jersey
