Mother of god ... I was sitting in a pretty quiet venue and all of a sudden it was like a space shuttle launch coming from my waist line. I mean, I couldn't play it off and was like: ehem .. excuse me. I have been noticing more and more noise lately. I know a lot is from gas and a lot of times I can almost feel it coming on, but other times it sneaks up on you like a sniper. Anything out there to reduce this or does it just work itself out? I have had the temp loop ileo for about 5 weeks now.

Thanks, everyone

I "hear" ya!

I think it is supposed to slow down...but it does have a lot to do with what you eat. I had the same thing a couple of weeks ago. First meeting in a small conference room doing computer training and I was loud! I ended up with my notebook in my lap trying to keep things semi quiet. I knew oatmeal produces alot of gas but did not think about it when I was eating breakfast!

it will slow down as you get farther out, and of course depends on what you eat.
i was at the care dealership getting DH's car fixed and sitting in there and i could feel my stomach start and i could feel the noise coming out, so i quickly picked up my pocketbook and laid it there, lol
thats the first time that has happened to me in two years!
But here is somethign you can do to help muffle the noise that wont be noticeable. Get some small squares of cloth, i cut up towels, and put two of them over your stoma, and that will muffle the noise up!

Hi Anthony,

It does slow down after that first year. That noise used to happen to me too. Also when I woke up in the morning it was like the good year blimp sitting on my stomach. But now that doesn't usually happen.

Also at first and even still sometimes if I'm realllllly hungry then I eat, the trapped air will poop out. BUt better out than in, that's all I can say.

It does get better with time...hang in there!!!

Try to eat something small when you know you are going to be in any type of meeting or class. It will keep the loud noises down. Also, limit carbonated drinks and don't use straws when drinking, since both of those put more air/gas into your system:(

haha, yeah, I realized the carbonated drinks were not my friend. I am actually going for my reversal on June 16th so I mean it is not much of a big deal, but still wanted to see what remedies were out there. Thank you all for your help.
