Hi, I am new to this forum. And I have read so much since I found this and it has been wonderful information!! So about me and why I am here. I am 34yo female with what I was told about 5 years ago IBS-C, which was really bad cramping, bloating, constipation. I had an endoscopy and a colonoscopy and everything was fine, was told by my GI to eat some fiber, take bentyl for the cramping, use miralax for the constipation. I am 5'4" and 150 lbs. I can go up to about 160 something when I am full.

So to 2010, I have been having extreme left sided upper abd pain, bloating to look like I am 4-5 months pregnant, I have a BM without a laxative about once every 9-12 days, with laxatives that have sennosides in them or miralax it is about once every 5 days or so. When I do end up going, I don't empty myself. But I have nausea, sweating, hot flashes while I am going and it takes forever. I also have to push on my abd and push it through my colon to make its way out. Like there is no motility in me.

I just moved to this area and have a new GI doc, saw him for the first time about 2-3 weeks ago and the first thing he said to me after I described everything to him is that I do not have IBS. I have chronic constipation, which I knew. and I possibly have colonic inertia. So he sent me for a sitz marker study. I did it and on the 5th day, all 24 markers where still there and some in the transverse and in the descending and a few in the colon. They had me go back on day 8 and I had one of my large BMs on day 7, and all were gone.

My BM's are not hard, I do not strain, they are soft, formed but long and I have to help them out.

I see my GI to go over the sitz marker study on this coming mondayy, 12 Jul and I guess he will tell me what we do next because I am pretty sure that it is not normal to have all the sitz markers in you on day 5.

I normally take some miralax every other day and also take stool softner/sennoside everyday and that is what makes me go every 5 or so days.

Any advice would be grateful. I am also active duty Air Force so this can possibly be a career ender due to surgery but I really just wnat to be comfortable and happy. Right now I come home and lay in bed because I am in pain after working all day and being up and running around all day. And listen to my stomach pop and move all around.

Welcome to our house....Ya its not normal to have all of them in you after 5 days...So your doc will tell you exactly what it means depending on where they land.  So let us know how your doing and what you find out...good luck
