Here I go with a food question again..lol. It is just that it's been soooo long since I had a slice of pizza and there are soooo many pizza parlors in this area.
Hubby and I went to Atlantic City today and I won money at the Borgata..yah! On the way home we stopped at a diner. I was good...I ate broiled cod fish, baked potato (careful that I didn't eat the skin although I love it) and applesauce. Escarole soup too. I could only eat about 1/3 of my dinner but brought the rest home for tomorrow. Feeling better every day!

i had pizza about a week and a half after i got home, it didnt cause any blockages but i had horrible gas, like i was up all night crying. I think it was just too soon for my system. Ironically, one of the things i could always handle with UC was pizza. Anyway, i waited about two months after that, and its fine now.
Just start with a small small amount.

I actually ordered one while I was in the hospital...didn't bother me, but it's so individual! Go to a place where you can get a slice of cheese and give it a shot:)

Oh, you may want to do a thick slice first since that might be easier to chew!! ENJOY<3

I'd say give it a try (don't get any crazy toppings) and try a little bit. Chew really well and you'll probably be fine! :)

haha, you are too much, Christine. Aren't you happy now you have gone through this? Beware though, after I had my surgery done, I gained like 25 lbs. Although I needed it because I looked like skeletor. I was eating pretty much everything within two weeks but in moderation and chewing oh so well. I had to learn how to chew. I usually just swallowed food like a shark.

Chewing well is a learning experience for me too...I tend to scoff food down too..lol. I haven't gained any weight. I feel like I am starving but then when I do eat I really eat small portions. Right now I weigh 112 and am 5 ft 2 in and shrinking. I can still wear my size 8 clothes...no bikini yet though .

^^^^ lol
Last week I had pizza like every day. Not really by choice. Just being out with different people at different houses. "Hey let's order a pizza". "Hey I know a good pizza place". And then I go to a carnival and the only food there is Pizza lol. I felt like I couldn't get away from it.
I'm about a month out of surgery btw and haven't had problems with food. Just sometimes how it comes out it looks weird. Like the spices don't digest that well and they get stuck in the bag.

summerstorm....I have a huge appetite but can only eat a small portion. This evening I had my left overs from the restaurant the other day...about 1/4 of a baked potato, 1 oz of fish and 1/4 cup of string beans. In the evening I get hungry but eat only jello or something light. I sure don't want to get fat!

I hve tried to eat pizza but have suffered greatly for it,so it's my choice not to eat it!!! Also why am i a KILLJOY??? Everyone is very different with food's they can tolerate. Some can eat pizza but alot of people that i know that have an ostomie cant eat it!!

I'm only yankin your chain damagedgoods...don't take it so hard! I realize some people have more problems with different foods than others. There are foods I am staying away from too...pizza is one for now, pulled pork, steak, lettuce, nuts, corn.
My surgeon did tell me I could eat anything but after about six to eight weeks but to remember to chew, chew and chew some more.
