For some reason or other my poop is building up around my stoma and not going down into the bag. My husband said I am not drinking enough water but I don't think that has anything to do with it. I now have a rash around the stoma. The poop oozed out and I had to change the bag. I am using the one piece Hollister. Now I put on the two piece Coloplast. Hopefully it will stick because I had to put barrier ointment on the rash. What am I doing wrong?

its piling up around there because thats what happens when its really thick sometimes.  You probably do need to drink more.  that happens to me if i havent had enough to drink, and of course it can happen depending on certain foods.
As for it leaking, sometimes that does happen when it gets all stuck up there, but you probably arent getting a good seal in the first place.
When you empty your bag and its all stuck up like that, be sure you use some water to swish it out and get it all out.
i dont know what you are doing when you change your bag to troubleshoot, but if you post it, we may be able to help.

LOL yea when I eat hash browns or tater tots that happens ALL the time.
Also I use the powder if I have a rash then dust it off and then pat my skin dry with a paper towel. Then I apply an eakin seal to the sticky on the flange then with the bag already preattached to the flange I press and hold it on my skin for about a minute and press down fairly hard. afterward I use the belt thing that came with the 2 piece starter kit and put it on and tighten it and wear that for a few hours.

I get about a 6-8 wear time unless I do something that stresses my stomach. like last week I was moving a computer desk and the top part was kinda heavy and when I lifted it up I think I stretched my stomach to much and pulled on the flange. Woke up in the middle of the night and I noticed that part of the flange was "puffy". When I changed it I noticed the eakin seal got pushed to that side or something.
In the end I now use less eakin seal.
