apparently diarrhoea (as spelled) can be cured by a hot water bag filled with hot water and salt, it must be a flannel bag.
Also, to kep it from coming back, feet should be kept warm and dry, and a broad flanned band should be worn around the belly, next to the skin!

i have a book from 1894 that my aunt gave me, and that is part of it, its called Ideal Womanhood and MotherHood How Attained
Its hilarious!
i thought i would share that with yall  There are cures for lots of things, so if you have an ailment, just let me know!

You think that is bad, the Egyptians would drill a hole in your head for those that had headaches. Though, I must say, the Egyptians were far superior in medical stuff during their time.

thats some of the good stuff from the book! there was lots more crazy than that!

the egyptians, and ancient greeks and romans actually had amazing medical skills. ALthough some of their methods were a little, sketchy.

I have to agree with their idea of having a bag pressed against your stomach to cure a bad case of (how did they spell it?) diarrhoea... because it sure has worked for me! smilewinkgrin
