Yesterday I think I had another blockage. It took about three hours before things got better. Had major gas pains - not fun. Anyways, on Monday at the gym I used a piece of equipment that I hadn't used since before my surgery four months ago. You kind of twist your sides, while seated. I might have used to much weight on it. So I have this pain under my ribs on the left side and I don't know if I pulled something at the gym or maybe I have more air trapped in there from the blockage?? It hurts everytime I breathe, which I do a lot. So I thought the blockage was all taken care of but this afternoon it seemed like I didn't have a lot of output and what comes out is a bright green color. But at least something is coming out. Do you guys think something is still stuck in there or this pain is from my exercising? Any thoughts?

if you are getting output and you just said that you had worked out the day before, I would say you might be sore. Though, I wouldn't think you would be sore under the ribs and that it would prevent you from breathing comfortably. Call your doc if you have any concerns or it gets worse.

Call your doctor...that bright green stuff, is it like the stuff that first comes out, after surgery? I'm gonna guess, that since you haven't had a lot of out put and it's green, you still have a SBO skull

Have you eaten and are you nauseated?

Try a heating pad, too, to help relax...and drink something that makes you have fast transit...some on here swear by Grape Juice, but I like Ginger Ale.

Keep us posted!

This sounds like two separate issues. You might have had a partial obstruction but the pain under your rib sounds as if it came from your workout. Green output is bile which is normal to see; especially if you haven't eaten.

ok while none of this is funny, your comment about breathing alot cracked me up!!!

I would say, that the pain is from the workout, when i first started working out again on stuff like that, i got weird pains all over too!
You may also be dehydrated, from doing different exercises yesterday. I notice if i work out alot or harder than usual, if i dont drink a whole lot more i get the green stuff too.

Thanks guys for all the replies. Turns out all that pain was caused by the obstruction. I think I had gas trapped under my rib cage so that I could only take shallow breaths or I would be in extreme pain. Still not sure was caused it but once I started having output again the pain went away. Not fun!
