Alright so i have a few family members visiting this weekend and they want to go to kings dominion. My parents thought it would be fun and its only 20 mins away from my house. My concern is the roller coasters. I love them, but i've never rode one since my surgery. I want to ride a few "not the Intimidator 305 tho thats too much." Does anyone ride coasters even with a bag?.. how do loops feel?

I know a few tips like empty my bag before the ride and dont do anything too stupid. I just dont want to be a party pooper.

This isn't really an answer as I haven't been on a rollar coaster in years, but what Kings Dominion is that...the one in Ohio or VA?

i dont see why you couldnt ride one. Wear a tube top or something to hold your bag flat so it doesnt flip up, and empty before you get on.

You are suggesting DAVID wear a tube top? I'm having trouble envisioning that.

David-M

Just get on the coaster. If it makes you feel better, tuck the end of your pouch in your underwear.

Diagnosed with UC 1974 at 30 years old. Kept in total remission with Azulfidine. 2002 getting a “paunch”. Wife read coffee causes a paunch. Stopped drinking coffee. Three weeks later UC back. Didn’t know caffeine helped to keep UC in remission. Unable to get back in remission. November 2007 in surgery for colectomy/ileostomy. catheterization found 2300 cc of urine in bladder. (paunch). Large prostate, must use catheter every day to pee. Home in 4 days, 3 days later developed peritonitis. Live in small town. Hospital flies me by helicopter to Detroit hospital. Major surgery. Critical care for a week. Back home. Noticed right leg and arm not quite right. Must be small stroke. September 2009 diagnosed with Parkinsons. November 2009 prostate surgery. No more catheters. This whole thing because of enlarged prostate. Still married….

As long as you're healed, you should be fine. You might have to position yourself a bit so the bar doesn't hit right across your stoma site, but apart from that, you're good to go. Enjoy!
Ileostomy for 34 years due to UC. I had my surgery at 10 years of age.

David~go and HAVE FUN!!! I do what Shaz described and haven't had any issues.

FYI: The rides where the safety bar comes down over your body are actually more comfortable than the style where the bar goes across your waist.

get one of those under armor shirts so it will hold the bag against you. And i would empty it before I got on a ride.

under his clothes of course! actually whats better is the belly bands for pregnant women, they are skin colored, and hold it in perfectly. But i usually just wear mine tucked into my undies, and that would work too, but if i want extra hold (sounds like hairspray) i wear a band
