Hi everyone,
Hope you are all doing well. Ever since I have had my ileostomy (17 months) I have had occasional pain but lately its been becoming more regular. Soon after surgery I spoke to my surgeon about it and he said at the time he thought it was just the settling in period, but this long after and its progressively getting worse so I spoke with my regular doc about it a few weeks back and she gave me some buscopan pills and said to try them, they are for stomache muscle spasm, and she said if that didn't help I would have to go back to see my surgeon. Well I really don't want to go through anymore so was hoping you all might have some answers. The pain floors me and my stomache actually moves it looks like my small bowel is moving and it travels from my left side across to my stoma on the right, it seems to be every time I put any abdominal pressure on it, even something simple like putting my panty hose on for work. I am starting to get worried cause I live alone and I am so afraid that I won't make it to the phone for help if I need it. I really don't know how else to explain it. When it happens my stomache literally feels bruised for days after but sometimes it happens everyday for a few days then nothing again for a week or so then bang it hits me again. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Doreen

hi andorable,
i'm so sorry to hear you're in so much pain :( if it's that bad to the point it floors you and you say it's only getting worse, then i think going back for some tests is inevitable. i wouldn't wait, i'd make an appt to the surgeon or gastro doc already and start running some tests. hope you're feeling better today, keep us posted.

Thanks for your reply Hodaya, I think your right I dont like my chances being able to avoid going back to the surgeon about this. Wish I knew what it was and that its something simple to fix cause I have also had extreme fatigue but I tend to blame that on the methotrexate injections and humira that I have to take. So for now Think I might need to get some sleep. Thanks again Hodaya and I hope you are well :-)

Could you have a stricture or a kink? Or, a hernia? I'd call your doc to be safe!

Please tell me any of those problems can be fixed without surgery! I so don't want to go through any more surgeries. Thanks for helping guys I will get off to the doc during the week for a referral back to see my surgeon.
