I'm sorry for all the posts and questions guys and gals but I want this down to a science and easy as possible :)
Figured I could ask the experts here!!!

So I wear the Hollister 2 piece system with the velcro type end to hold it in place. I find that when I empty I usually have liqudy output for now which is easy to pour out. So far I've been measuring for the doctor so pour into the little cup and then pour it into the toilet. Now that I've stopped measuring, I'm trying to find the best way possible to clean out the end of the bag before locking it back.

Now I tear out 2 pieces of 2 square toilet paper piece and fold in half. Sit on the bowl, pour out the contents, if it's solid I squeeze it out as much as possible. Then I use the toilet paper and clean out as much as possible from the tip of the bag. Problem is when I start folding the bag back I can still see bits and pieces there and can never get it perfect. You guessed it, type A personality!! :)

Any suggestions or tricks people have learned would be awesome thanks!

i just do basically what you are doing, if you want every single bit out, you could fill it with a water bottle then swish it around. That gets it cleaner, but since its almost always giving output more is getting in there all the time
sadly, i dont think you are ever gonna get it perfect.

So sitting and emptying into the toilet is the general consensus? I've heard people standing and emptying ... but hiw the heck do you do that from so high up?
Also, I would love to not empty my bag in a public restroom again, especially all the nasty ones I was forced to use when I had UC and also when I had my JPouch!!! Hopefully my stoma behaves and slows down enough so I don't have to empty so many times a day :)

It slows down. In fact the last week I will empty my bag only once or twice before 5pm and I wake up at 9am. In the evening though the output picks up but that is probably cause I eat more in the evening right now.

As for cleaning the end of the bag, I get a couple of squares and roll them up into a cigar shape and clean the side a little and the edge; if it is real thick I will squeeze out as much as possible then pour some water in there to clean it out more before I clean it with toilet paper.

i empty it sitting on the toilet, but in public rest rooms, i think i'll do it standing up. my stoma nurse told me to put a lot of TP on the water of the toilet so it won't jump back up at me while emptying from so high up... ewwwww.

i use only wipers, first i wipe on the outside, than squeeze it to the inside with my finger (totally wraped with the wiper) and just clean as far as i can get. also, i have a little hose right next to my toilet, so i squirt water in there and swish it and it's much cleaner that way. i think that when i'm out and about i'll have to carry a bottle with me.

that's funny, I always empty standing up. The ET nurse at hospital was adamant I should be doing it sitting down- she didn't even want me to leave the hospital until I started doing it sitting down.( i had to fib) But for me it just feels so awkward that way.

I have the same hollister velcro closure you have and I've gotten it pretty much down to a science at 3 weeks after surgery!

When I'm changing my bag, as my bag is still brand new and unused I open up the end and CREASE the opening the opposite way so that it's kind of naturally a square shape opening instead of a slit, the waste exits MUCH easier when you can hold it wide open in a square..

So now when I'm emptying:

Before hand I will tear about a 5 square long piece of toilet paper.. fold it in half over and over until it is about the size of one square... I will also tear a 2 square long piece and fold it in half once and then fold it down at about half increments (this is to stick inside and clean inside the opening)

I HATE emptying really thick waste as it makes more of a mess around the opening and it's just a pain, so before I even empty I hold the bags opening up so I can pour water into it from a water bottle, I then close the bag back up and swoosh it around really good and it really thins up the waste so it will slide out a lot easier and won't get AS MUCH of those bits and pieces all over the end and you won't have to squeeze as much as that makes it more of a mess...

I will pour water down and empty it until the liquid comes out so it's atleast transparent, if not totally clear (yes I'm a clean FREAK) I Just like the feeling of everything being clean and "new" in the bag. When you repeat the water rinse method until the liquids almost clear then the opening of the bag is almost ALREADY clean!

I then dry off/clean the outside of the opening with that folded 5 square piece of toilet paper, after it's all dry and clean I open up the opening (SOOOO much easier if you do the crease method I mentioned) and clean the inside with the 2 square folded piece of toilet paper (should be pretty much already clean from the water)...

then..... CLOSE IT BACK UP. It sounds long but once I got the hang of it I can fly through the whole process turn

After reading all this I am glad that I have a clip type closure! The end cleans real easy with no mess. And the clip has never failed.

if anything is left that i don't get out the end of the bag, I just sort of milk it back up into the bag so it's above where I roll it back up to velcro it. Rosemary

When I had my temp ostomy I used baby wipes at the end before resealing the bag

I use TP also. I use a water bottle and squeeze water inside the pouch and then kind of massage the pouch to get some of the stool loose from the sides. The let it drain out, if the output is thick I may have to repeat this several times but most times once is enough. When the water is somewhat clean I take several squares of tp fold it into the size of the opening of the pouch clean the neck out and put the M9 drops in and clip it closed.
