Hello,

I am 4 weeks removed from step 1 and I made a mistake last night by eating too much food too fast.  about 20 minutes after the meal I started cramping really bad and wasn't going in my bag.  Since 9pm cst last night, I have gone very little in my bag and I'm still cramping.  Any remedies?  Any help appreciated, thanks...

I'm still fairly new to this - had my first operation about five months ago - but I'll tell you what has helped me and I'm sure others will chime in. Had two blockages so far. Some suggestions would be to walk around, lay down and pull your knees up to your chest, drink grape juice and apply pressure and massage the areas around your stoma. For me, it seems like when I'm on the toilet and I lean over things start moving more. In addition to pulling knees toward my chest, I'll also get in about every other position known to man to try to work things out. I've also heard people recommend taking a relaxing, warm bath. I've used a heating pad to help with the pain. Good luck - those are really painful.

Something carbonated helps me.

Massaging works too. Also a hot bath.

Rosemary,

I did not feel it pass so I went to the ER first thing Saturday morning.  They took a CT scan and said it was all clear, no blockage.  I didn't understand but they said my stomach was probably hurting from the pressure and massages I was applying to my stomach.  It was a very weird deal.  Maybe it passed through the night Friday night and I didn't know it because my stomach was sore.  I don't know.  Lesson learned.  Thanks for asking...
