I had surgery in June and have an ileostomy.  I live in Florida, but am flying to see my brother for Christmas.  He lives in Kuwait.  Should traveling that far be alright for me?  I haven't gone very far since the hospital this summer.
Good news though.  My wounds have healed and I went swimming on Thursday for the first time in 2 1/2 years and wore a swimsuit, too!

You will be fine! I flew about 4 weeks after my ileo revision from FL to NC. It was fine! Obviously this is a much longer trip, but seriously, just enjoy seeing your brother and enjoy having a diarrhea-free trip :) (I guess I don't know why you have your ostomy, but I"m just guessing.)

Everyone, it's so good to hear from you.  I liked your advice so much that I'm going to fly home to Iowa to see my parents for Veteran's Day weekend, too..  I agree with others that we should really plan a cruise and meet each other.  I think that it would be a great deal of fun..  Love you all...
