I noticed a funky smell and I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. OMG, I am so dumb. I mean, you would think that since I have an ostomy and wear a bag that I would automatically assume the smell was coming from ME. Oh no, not me....it took me 3 hours to figure out that my wafer seal had failed.

Somehow, the poop was leaking out the bottom of the wafer and the sure seal. I am assuming the failure was due to the heat, unseasonably hot here in Georgia this past week and I am a bus driver with no air conditioning, so temps reaching 106 degrees inside the bus. Yikes. I also do alot of bending and twisting while working.

Well, I put on a Hollister, one piece bag and for the past 2 nights, me and my husband still smell something funky at times. This bag does not have a filter and yet, does not fill up with gas??? I have searched around the wafer and it appears to be intact. I did not want to change the bag just yet because my skin is sore and red from me going through 2 wafers the past 2 bag changes. UGH, nothing like having to remove a wafer that is newly stuck to your skin...almost seems like it is stuck with super glue. LOL

Ever since I started wearing Sure Seals I never have to worry about heat or leaks or anything.

It is the smell first thing in the morning when I empty that almost knocks me out, lol.
