So i talked to my ostomie nurse and asked her about sure seals and eakin seals. She kinda doesn't know what they are and asked if i could bring in a sample of each. shes been an ostomie nurse for ehh.. a while longer than others 10+ years id say.

"military uses only 2 types but can order different if needed."

Where does everybody order their supply's from?

i order mine from edgepark when my insurance pays, but right now i am ordering from bestbuyostomy (i think that's it) because our insurance is horrible, and its cheaper that way.
Your ET should know about those things

I order from Byram Healthcare.  They have been great. My stoma nurse at the hospital where I had my surgery didn't seen to know as much as she should have for someone who has done this for years.  Even my home health nurse was about the same way.  I have learned more on this site than from either one of them.  this place is great.

You can talk to nurses at Hollister and Convatec. They know what they are talking about. They are good with samples. I recently got some Hollister convex seals. So far pretty good results. They do not leave the sticky mess that Eakins do.

Hollister phone 888 740 8999
Convatec phone 800 422 8811

I order my supplies from National Rehab phone 800 451 6510

The home care nurse that came to my home after my ileostomy surgery was useless. My wife was helping me change at that time. He looked at my pouch and said you change the pouch and I will watch to see if you are doing anything wrong. HE DIDN'T HAVE A CLUE! The next one took my blood pressure and temperature. I cancelled the home nurse......

the home care nurses dont usually know alot about ostomies, they are just there to take your bloodpressure and check your wounds. They really need to send someone to people post ostomy surgery with some experince with them
