I had my rectum removed when I got my ileo last March. I haven't had problems with vaginal wall stuff nor have I ever heard of that. I think a lot of times internet searching can scare you more than is necessary. Remember, people post things on the internet when they're having problems, not when they're doing fine.
Halloween will be like 2 weeks after your surgery, right? I think you should be able to walk along with your husband and toddler...I was very sick at the time of my surgery and could have done that 2 weeks after, so I think you'll be ok.
I can't imagine why they'd even restrict your diet in the hospital...you're not doing anything to your digestive tract, right? Just removing your rectum? I coudl be wrong but I'd assume you'd be able to eat whatever you can tolerate.
