Hello Everyone,

I had my ileostomy reversal done in 2004 I still have problems with controlling diarrhea sometimes. During the day it's easier to control but at night it's like I have no control. This could be because I basically eat and drink whatever I want. I've tried some anti diarrhea meds, the best I think is immodium, but it makes me sleepy so I normally take it right before bed, works the best, if anything works better please, I want to know. I haven't had any problems gaining weight, before when I had ulcerative colitis I lost like 60lbs, but I put it all back on, plus some ahem...but neways, everything else is going ok. My biggest fear is sleeping at my boyfriends house or having him spend the night and having a accident in the bed. Or at work and ruining my clothes. Maybe I just worry to much. Hey heres a thought I think they should have prescription Imodium that's even stronger then the regular kind and have it under the medical insurance prices, like 5.00 for 60 pills. I know you can buy it over the counter but its expensive and alot of us really depend on it and need it regularly. Just a thought. I would like to hear your opinions

sorry to hear that - i have the opposite problem (cause i had colonic inertia probably).

I cant help you really but have you tried adding Benefiber to your diet - expect you have tried fibre supplements and thought about that.

Otherwise as i am sure you may have thought  about going back to an ileostomy - it is not so bad.
