I am still trying to figure out why I have so little energy all of the time.  I had a subtotal colectomy in april 2009.  For a long time I had diarrhea 10-20 times a day; lately it has slowed down quite a bit (some days just 6 times).  My doctors have done many blood tests and just can't figure out why I always feel so weak.  I used to be a very athletic person and loved to be "on the move" most of the time.  Now, even though I plan out my day and am excited about events, I only last about 2 or 3 hours before feeling that I need to lie down!  Can anyone comment on this?   I ask about people with ileostomies also because that may be in my near future!

I had my reversal a year ago and I just started working full time about two months ago... Oi! I am exhausted everyday. It is so hard for me to be like my other coworkers even though I am the youngest by far. It seems like I hit a wall around 2pm. No matter how much I sleep, I am tired.

I am going to a nutritionist at the end of the month to see if we can make changes. I hope we can figure this out!:)

Thanks for your responses, Chassity and Lisa. Everyones body must be so different (or I guess the surgery done). Lisa, can you please explain what they are "reversing" after a J-Pouch. Does that mean you went from having a J-Pouch to an Ileostomy? I hope your doctors can find ways for you to "get" more energy. Chassity, glad you are doing so well. Congratulations on your pregnancy!
