Hi guys ,
I only had my ileostomy reversed, but this surgery seems to be worse than the last.  cry
I am a bit paranoid because i sneezed really hard a couple of days ago and it felt like somthing 'went' in the ileo closure area and since then has felt really sore and hurts to press on on one particular area.  The only way to describe how it feels is like when you get a 'stitch' when you've been walking or running too fast.    no apparent lump is there but it now 'catches' when i move around normally from time to time.  Also when i press on the tender area i can feel my bowel  sqwelch and gurgle..
also the area around the ileo closure was numb after surgery
does anyone have any clue or am i just being a complete paranoid wuss?
thanks, karen. x

I don't think you are a paranoid wuss at all!!  nono

You have identifed a specific change in your body.  You might feel funny trying to describe what you are feeling (I think you did a pretty good job) but no one knows better than you what you are feeling.  I would get it looked at.  If it is a hernia, it may need correction, or it may need a good hernia belt...either way i would get it looked at.

I've not had any experience with a hernia, but I live in fear of one  shocked

crohn's since 1983, many surgeries and way too many drugs later finally got a perm ileostomy & proctocoletomy in August 2009 (a life saver). meds: 6 mp, lomotil and immodium, vitamins. LIFE IS GOOD!
