Weak rectal muscles...questions

My surgeon said that my rectal muscles were a bit weak. When I tighten them they are fine, but when resting they are a bit weak so she is worried about leakage at night. She will keep some of the rectum (said something about stripping). What does this mean for my uc? I don't want to go through this and then still have problems. Has anyone had this procedure?

Start rectal kegal muscles - the same as the urinary ones except practice tightening and loosening those rectal muscles for a couple of minutes several times during the day to help strengthen them.
Ileostomy for 34 years due to UC. I had my surgery at 10 years of age.
