Just wanted to thank stripey for making the suggestion that (I think) is going to fix my skin irritation problems!
Stripey's suggestion (and I'd recommend that anyone else who's having skin problems under the wafer do the same) was to cut little pieces from all the products I have and stick them somewhere to see what gets a reaction, that way I know exactly which products I'm allergic to. Well whodathunk, I had a reaction to the Calvilon no-sting barrier wipes! Here I thought I was allergic to my appliance. Didn't even really know you could BE allergic to the wipes.
My skin had been so weepy that nothing was sticking and I hadn't left the house in weeks for fear of having a leak in public. Today I'm still itchy, but everything is dry, dry, dry, so I'm getting out to go to the gym and walk on the treadmill. Woo hoo! I had such bad cabin fever.
One question though - my skin problems started out just under the wafer, which I know is common, but now I'm getting hives on my arms too! I can't help but think it's related, but how odd! Is this just my immune system going haywire? Has something like this happened to anyone else?
