I am finally able to try some different samples now that my incision is all healed up. I am a little confused about the adhesive coupling ones though. Can you swap out pouches on them? For instance, if I normally attach a drainable pouch to it, but then want to take that off and put a closed end pouch on for a swim or climb, can I then put the drainable pouch back on the wafer afterwards? How many times can you swap out a pouch on an adhesive coupling wafer? Seems like it would get un-sticky after a while compared to the "tupperware" type two-pieces.

the adhesive coupling system is wonderful! But it works a bit differently than i think you think it does. ;) First off the wafer itself has a plate on it, like the click bags a ring. the plate is just plastic, no stickiness at all. the bag has a sticky part instead of a ring. So to attach it, you peel off the plastic from the bag, like you would peel off a sticker backing, and line that up on the plate and just press it on. All done! You can get closed and open bags and wear whichever you want, but once you take it off it really isn't sticky enough to put back on. The plate itself will not hold any residue of stickiness either. So if you take off an open bag to put on a closed one for swimming, when you are done and want to put a open bag back on, you'll have to get a new one. only once has any poo residue been present on the plate when I took the bag off, you just wipe it clean before putting a new bag on. I swap bags every 3 days but, I think I will start doing it every other day once I get my loop ileo just so i have a clean filter more often. I once kept a bag on for a whole week and it was still really stuck to the plate so they are very secure. I currently use the Coloplast Sensura flex. the Assura line also has an adhesive system, but the bags are stupid for that one. BUT i've heard of several people on the uoaa.org board that use the Assura wafer because it has an extended wear time wafer, with the Sensura bags because the base plate is exactly the same size. the sensura bags are the best IMO easy to clean and soft, and pretty quite too.
