Well everyone it's been about 2 and a half months since my J pouch and I honestly can say I couldn't be happier! Just this past week I've been REALLY feeling better and actually almost back to my normal pre-UC self.

At work I'm jumping in and out of truck beds, working and not getting tired, stomach is healing up well and the scars look better and better every day. Am really able to go a while without HAVING to go to the bathroom.

I've got my car as many of you know! 2003 SVT Cobra. Also, just rode my dirt bike again for the first time in 6 months up my street and I felt GREAT on it! turn

My only negative right now would be I get some irritation down there every now and then, but nothing that is like BAD.... just minor. Other then that I am feeling better then I ever thought I would. Have been eating hot dogs, salads, huge burgers, big macs, steaks, pistachios, ice cream, cereal, milk... Nothing I've tried has effected me one bit yet! Also have drank a few beers with no problem.

ANYWAYS... I was just VERY happy this week when I started jumpin off trucks and runnin around at work and just feeling back to normal and thought I'd share!

Here's a couple pictures of my new car.... Already modded it a bit... for you car freaks: JLT Intake, Magnaflow Catback, and Lowered it just yesterday!

That is great news! I hope in about three months I will have the same success.

Super! Hopefully you will find the right disposable wipes (use each and every time so they say) and a topical barrier cream (also use each and every time) to keep the irritation from becoming a problem.

Since hubby wasn't able to end up with this I didn't research everything fully for afterwards.............is there anything you can ingest to help make the acidity less strong when eliminating to help the so called "butt burn" situation?

Very happy to read the positive outcomes and reports...hubby was doing great but this week we are having our frustrating moments and trying not to let it get us down.
64 yr old male suffered with UC & in May 06 had a severe flare & hospitalized 6 days...various prednisone treatments leading to steroid dependence and osteopenia, 12 asacol, 200 mg Imuran, failed remicade infusions Jan-May 2010 Dependence on pain meds. Made decision 6/10 to have surgery which was on 12/17/10 (total proctocolectomy & ileostomy - unable to have the j-pouch) and no longer in pain.

Yes, life is so much better post surgery!

You may want to try Calmoseptine for irritation. Works like a charm.

Thank you everybody!

I do use the wipes everytime, and Suebear I also use the Calmoseptine, again the irritation is minimal, and usually happens when I'm at work or out of the house and don't use the Calmoseptine

Again thanks everyone
