j pouch takedown surgery

after getting home from surgery is it tough or can you move around ok? How about driving,after my colon removal I had to wait a week to drive.

I drove myself home from surgery, a 2 hour drive. I was off all pain meds the day following surgery and felt fine. Moving around was okay to, I continued to walk a lot and went back to work in week 3.

I was on pain killers so I couldn't drive until I was done taking them...about a week. But if you are not on pain meds you should be fine to drive and shouldn't have trouble moving around once home.
DX UC - in 2005 when I was 37
Tried every drug-even Remicade-nothing worked
Step 1: J-pouch surgery (Laparoscopic restorative proctocolectomy w/ temporary diverting loop ileostomy)6-25-10
Step 2: Take down surgery (Ileostomy reversal)10/8/10
Very pleased with my results
