I had ileostomy reversal 11/3/10. It left an open wound that I packed until it healed shut. However, there is a very small wound at the top of the skin that has never healed and continually drains a little yellowish drainage every day. I just tape a small piece of guaze over it and change it 3 times a day. Will this ever heal completely or has anyone else had this same type of problem. Drs all take a quick look and say "oh, it's just a slow healer". Thanks for any input.

Welcome to the forum!

Does it ever drain anything else? Was it your surgeon that dismissed it? You may want a second opinion just to rule out all possibilities. Sometimes fistulas can form at surgical sites so you really need to make sure that that isn't the case.
