This may be a stupid question but I was just wondering, how is it possible to have say a Rectocele or Enterocele (which would show weakened pelvic floor muscles) but also have Anismus? It seems like it would be hard to have a diagnosis of something showing a weakened pelvic floor but also have a diagnosis of a tight strong pelvic floor? I haven't been diagnosed with Anismus(based on my defecography) but am afraid that the Manometry will show Anismus but I also have both a Recto and Enterocele. Does this make sense?lol

i know!!!! it's so confusing, isn't it..? yes, ppl can have both tightness and not being able to expel stools and at the same time when they don't even mean to expel anything and w/o any worning, they can experience  incontinence.. and there are many ppl who are like that. but as i understand it, each of these conditions are related to different muscles of the pelvic. the anismus is tightness of the puborectalis muscle and incontinence/weakness of pelvic is related to the spincters of the rectum. i think that's the explanation more or less.
