I was hoping maybe you could help me out because I posted about this on j-pouch.org on the pouchitis board and haven't gotten a response - doesn't seem like there is much traffic there. If I remember right I think you said you've only had pouchitis once but you can probably answer my question from all the posts you've read over the years. I came down with what I think is pouchitis and my surgeon's nurse called in Cipro for me. After a couple of days on it I'm feeling quite a bit better but now that Cipro is causing constipation, which is not a lot of fun either but not nearly as bad as the pouchitis had gotten. I'm starting to wonder how long I've actually had it because I've had some issues for quite a while. Do most people just wait out the 10-days and deal with the constipation? Tomorrow will be day five and I'm on a 10-day dose. I know I can call my doctor's office but I try not to call them with every little thing. Thanks Sue!

Cipro reduced my frequency but did not give me constipation. You might drink some grape juice to get things moving. Don't stop the medication without talking with your doctor.
