hi everyone,

i talked to Rosemary through e mail, she's on a cruise and about to dock in Israel on Sunday the 15th. she asked me to say hi to everyone and that she love and misses you all. we're planning to meat on the 16th in Haifa's harbour for dinner. so excited :)) and they may let me go on board for dinner yeah

she's in Greece now. she got a vicious virus there causing her severe diarrhea and vomiting, apperantly from a tap water in a restaurant there. she said she's better now and won't have to go to a hospital after all.

say a little prayer she stays ok and make it through this cruise and safely back home.

How exciting to be able to meet up.
So sorry she got a bad virus. Glad she didn't need any kind of hospitalization....I believe the ship's Dr would have IVs on board if needed too.

That is one of my fears for when we cruise now and making sure we have extra anti-diahhrea over the counter stuff with us, powdered gatorade and an anti biotic on hand if needed along with many extra wafers and pouches...lol.

Have a wonderful visit.
64 yr old male suffered with UC & in May 06 had a severe flare & hospitalized 6 days...various prednisone treatments leading to steroid dependence and osteopenia, 12 asacol, 200 mg Imuran, failed remicade infusions Jan-May 2010 Dependence on pain meds. Made decision 6/10 to have surgery which was on 12/17/10 (total proctocolectomy & ileostomy - unable to have the j-pouch) and no longer in pain.

uc WIFE:

When travelling to third world countries, "don't drink the water!!!"

Bring your own bottled water or by NAME Brand bottled water in that country....

My mom is Italian, and when they go to visit, they only drink bottled water (or, Aqua Minerala) as they call it......

enigma.

Hope you have a nice visit -- how fun, and say hi. Sorry to hear that she's been sick. Glad it's better.

Yes I/we are very careful of our drinking water even though our travel is limited. Aruba is a usual place for us to visit and their water is fine. When we go on cruises and when we get off the ship we always have our own bottled water or order "cold" unopened bottles or cans of beverages and NO ICE on any of the islands.

Hey everyone,

Greetings from Volos Greece abord the Oceania Nautica.  Glad Hodaya posted for me as internet is up and down.  I was sooooooo scared being sooooooo sick all night the night before my travel buddy and I were to board the Nautica in Piraeus port city for Athens.  I did not think I was going to make it.  Severe diarrhea bag after bag after bag.  Then dry heaves from being dehydrated.  Knew I was not obstructing nor any food obstruction as i had none in me.  3 immodium and a LOT of rest took care of it.  BUT very scary.  Was served a glass of water in an internet cafe on land.  Never occured to me the waitress got it from the tap and not out of a bottle.  My travel bud was wonderful and said let's just take this a minute at a time.  In about 10 hours I was fine.  The hotel manager let me stay in my room way past checkout time.  After all passed I was immediately fine so we figure it HAD to be the water.  BUT for an ileostomate I could have gotten in bad trouble.  Ship doc could have done an IV if needed and they are all familiar with everything.  Taking it easy until Israel.  Am so excited about meeting Hodaya.  Found out no visitors on board so emailed her we can go to local restaurant/cafe and I will bring my own water and food.  This will follow a full day of touring with full day of tour before and after, but I am so excited.  The internet has opened up the whole world and have made us realize we are all one people, such a great thing.  Can't wait to see you Hodaya.  Regards to all.  Ship internet to expensive to see all posts but hoping well for all of you.  Hope your issue resolved Boat!  Fingers crossed club, Rosemary

Hi all,

Security issues here in Israel with our ship are incredible.  Hodaya and I are figuring a strategy.  We have GOT to meet.  I'm too close to her geographically not to.  We will persevere.  Rosemary

this is such a bummer...... i'm starting to think that all we may have left is just say hello, give ya a hug, and then you'll have to be back on board already.... sad
